Shambhala Gardens

a living sanctuary…

Shambhala Gardens is an organic sanctuary on the North Shore of Kauai, dedicated to sustainable living and wildlife habitat.

The pyramid of life, with natural, beneficial insects and predators keep the land free from chemicals.

Rigorous composting nourishes soil and helps keep the sanctuary zerowaste.

Solar panels and batteries fully power the entire sanctuary and contribute significant amounts of energy to Kauai’s grid each month.

Fruit and nut trees, alongside herb and vegetable gardens, nourish the sanctuary’s keepers, visitors and surrounding community.

Endangered plant and animals species are cultivated by native host plants grown specifically for threatened butterflies and other pollinators on the island.

Birds, reptiles and other animals are provided food, water and shelter and call Shambhala their home.
